Equipment rental terms

Version 1In force since 15/10/2026

1. Scope

These terms govern booking and renting equipment from lessors through the Platform, by direct booking, open request or booking basket. They are read with the general terms and the payments, escrow and commission terms.

2. Listing and price

  1. The lessor must keep the details, condition, photos, availability, prices and pricing method of its equipment accurate.
  2. The price is calculated by the lessor's pricing method for the requested period and shown with tax and deposit before you commit.

3. Booking and contract

  1. The equipment's time is reserved for the requested period when available, and time already reserved for someone else cannot be booked.
  2. The rental contract is built from the booking with its calculated terms and payment schedule, and its calculated terms change only through their tools.
  3. In a booking basket each item has its own request and contract; the requests in one bundle are decided together and signed with a single signature.
  4. In an open request, the request reaches eligible lessors and the contract is built from the accepted offer.

4. Payment

  1. Payment always follows the signing of the contract, using the lessor's permitted methods and from the payment basket. A contract with a payment due on signing is not activated until it is paid.
  2. With a direct transfer, the equipment is handed over only after receipt of the transfer is confirmed.

5. Deposit

  1. The deposit is a separate amount without tax or commission, held until the return inspection.
  2. After inspection the deposit is returned in full, or the amount corresponding to documented damage or shortage is deducted, and either party may object through the dispute centre.

6. Delivery, use and return

  1. Delivery and return are documented on the Platform with the equipment's condition, photos and time.
  2. The lessee must use the equipment properly for the agreed purpose, with a qualified operator where needed, must not sub-let it, and must return it on time in the condition received apart from normal wear.
  3. The lessor must deliver equipment that is fit, safe and as described, with the maintenance and licences it requires.

7. Extension and cancellation

  1. An extension is an amendment to the contract requested by the lessee and decided by the lessor, and its payment is added before it is applied.
  2. Cancellation releases the equipment's time, and any amount due back is refunded under the contract and payment terms.

8. Responsibility

The lessee is responsible for the equipment and any damage it causes while in its possession, and the lessor for its hidden defects and fitness. Qitaat does not own the equipment and is not a party to the rental contract.
